7th Annual Mental Health & Behavior Summit

This 2-day conference provides strategies and techniques to assist with behavior management and mental health issues in the school setting. This event also provides an opportunity for educators to network and collaborate around behavioral and mental health needs of students as well as practice self-care and compassion.

In addition to our distinguished keynote speakers, the Mental Health & Behavior Summit features thought-provoking breakout sessions from local experts in the field, and offers specific strategies and information for you to bring back to your district and classroom.


Monday Keynote and Session Speaker: Melody Moezzi

Melody Moezzi is an Iranian-American Muslim author, attorney, activist, and visiting professor of creative nonfiction at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Melody is the author of Haldol and Hyacinths: A Bipolar Life and War on Error: Real Stories of American Muslims, as well as her newest book The Rumi Prescription: How an Ancient Mystic Poet Changed My Modern Manic Life. She has also appeared as a commentator on many radio and television programs, including NPR, CNN, BBC, PBS, and others. A graduate of Wesleyan University and Emory University's School of Law and School of Public Health, Moezzi lives between Cambridge, Massachusetts and Wilmington, North Carolina with her husband, Matthew, and their ungrateful cats, Keshmesh and Nazanin.
